Operation: Military Kids in Randolph County

Greetings! What is Operation: Military Kids?  Operation: Military Kids is a program that was started in 2005 to help families with military deployed parents.  We have many different forms of out reach to families with small to youth aged children in a home where they are missing a parent due to deployment in the military. We offer a variety of services for the emotional mental well being of the child while their parent(s) is deployed.  One service we offer is the Mobile Technology Lab which allows kids to stay in contact with their deployed parent.  We have many other resources availible to these children.   We do however, need people to help in our effort to help these kids.   Volunteering to help will give you an opportunity to change someone's life forever so if you think this might be for you, please contact us.  If you live in another part of the state, you may contact Scott Enroughty, our project manager for OMK here in North Carolina.  Please go to our contact page for more information.   We will be more than happy to assist you.
Speak Out for Military Kids

Speak Out for Military Kids is one of the four core elements of OMK.   This small chunk of OMK is a youth led, adult sponsored organization doing the same type of jobs as the one's in OMK.  The difference?  These jobs are all done by youth instead of adults. This allows the SOMK youth and the military youth to work together more cooperatively than the adult and the youth. "After being on the North Carolina SOMK State Team for about a year I have found out how wonderful and effective this program really is." -Cody Williams. Speak Out for Military Kids does more outreach in the community and more of the presentation type things in the community than Operation: Military Kids does.
